Something haunts my dreams

(Leather Cut-out top: Vintage, Gingham Skirt: DIY, Barbie Shoes: Topshop, Stone necklace: Forever21, Purse: Mulberry)

Gingham, gingham haunts my dreams. I love gingham, so yay, it's having a come back. I actually have a lighter blue gingham skirt I bought from Topshop, but due to their bad quality, length and sizing I felt a need to replace my bobbled, skelt-lengthed, gappy-waist skirt. How to remain placid and not agitated by the Highstreet's idea of a suitable length (money saving initiative- less fabric= less cost) I went to Hobby craft and left with some fabric. An Afternoon later I had a skirt that fits my out of proportion waist AND covers my butt. Everyone is a winner. I used this tutorial if anyone wants to get crafty!

Lots of love,

Lovely blood flow

(Red Jumper: Ralph Lauren Rugby, Pleated Skirt: H&M x Versace,  Purse: Zara, Thigh Highs: Jeffrey Campbell, elephant necklace: Forever 21) #teenvogue

I know Christmas is over but this is a great festive jumper. Don't get me wrong, I like a jumper with lights and humorously placed Christmas puddings, but festive doesn't need to smack you in between the eyes- I blame novelty Christmas jumpers on you Bridget Jones. This jumper is also lovely in that it has aged well and is easy to wash. A+ Rugby, shame you disappeared. Which is a shame, as it is difficult to find good quality knitwear now with minimal bobbles and no acrylic.

Also, more importantly, Happy New Year to all! I hope you all had a great festive season- as you see I still don't think it's over. I wish it could be Christmas everyday. Let me know what Santa got you below, he's such a swell guy.

Cold cold water

(Silk pastel cami: Topshop, fur plaid skirt: River Island, Mint pumps: Topshop, Purse: Mulberry, Jacket: Forever 21) #teenvogue

I think you are meant to wear pastels in the spring or the summer, well boo you society, I wear pastels in the Autumn and Winter and develop a cold. I saw this skirt online and fell in love. It's just so pretty and fluffy, I spend more time than normal stroking my butt. If anyone is holding fire on this skirt some things to consider- it sizes smaller than normal- I had to go up one size as the zip isn't very long and I couldn't get the smaller size past my bum. Also it has a really bad smell, one that I hope to wash out. But em, it smells pretty bad, kind of acidic. At least I hope it isn't me? Other than that it is glorious, pretty colour palette, pretty shape.

Also, thanks Miss Kate for your photography perfection tendencies. I am basically a giant movable doll.

I hear the birds on the summer breeze

(Bell Sleeve Jumper: H&M Trend, Stone leather skirt: Topshop, Leather Harness: Topshop, Jewellery: DIY, Wood/ gold bracelets: &otherstories, Shoes: Forever21, Handbag: H&M Trend) #teenvogue

Resistance is futile, I heart this jumper. I do however, not heart wearing it and trying to get my arms in a jacket with it on though. That's pretty difficult. Also, I feel this is the last time in 2013 I will be able to use a song lyrics for my post titles that include the word "summer". It is getting dark so early! Autumn is upon us.  Hang on in there summer!! I had more summer outfits planned!

P.S. Thanks for all the sweet comments on my Russia post. I didn't think anyone would be interested, but yay! You are!

Valley of the dolls

(Dress: Miu Miu, Underskirt: Topshop, Belt: Mama's/ Vintage, Shoes: Forever 21 and socks: Topshop) #teenvogue

Oh Miu Miu, if only money was no object then you would dominate my wardrobe. This dress is from a very old collection but I loved it so searched good old ebay for years which finally came up trumps. Yay, but it's ebay, there is always a draw back and this was that this dress is a smidge on the roomy side. Then comes the problem of finding a belt to remedy this was actually quite difficult, stripes can sometimes be really hard to work with, introducing more colours wouldn't work, nor would not having an exact colour match work, I also knew I wanted a wide one. Then my mum left this lovely belt, from her youth, in my room claiming "she didn't need a beaded evening belt to go to Tesco". Problem solved, she solves all life problems: boys to clothes.

I guess I should also explain the wrinkled dress, we went out on the quad bike to take these up a hill in the Scottish outback. Therefore, my Miu Miu baby was in a rucksack for  a little longer than I would have liked. The picture of my quad biking outfit complete with motorbike helmet will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Oh, also happy August! I should also tell you that I am off on holiday on Monday, but I will schedule some posts. However, if you want a constant stream of my holiday pictures follow me on instagram: Highland_Fling

Against Privacy

(Ee tee: American Apparel, botanic shorts: Forever21, Shoes: H&M, Purse: Prada (oh, so old- strap came off twice...) #teenvogue

So many crotch shots and leg showcasing, sorry guys, I did refrain from uploading the sneaky bum pictures Stuart took. This outfit was not meant for the blogosphere but how pretty is this forest? It's PINK! Moving on, these shorts are great, a measly £12 I think and the quality is great and the pattern is all kinds of rad. Also, can't believe it took me this long to get this bag on here. It has to be the scabbiest Prada in history. It is at least 3rd hand and my first designer item. Perfect size and housed my geography folder for many a year in secondary school. To you Mr Faithful Prada.

Collecting the names of the lovers that went wrong

(Floral top: Topshop, Spotty trousers: H&M, Necklace: Forever21, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Pumps: Primark) #teenvogue

An attempt at the pattern clash. I love floral on floral but I have not tried that, yet, it might still happen. I thought I would already have items that would work in my wardrobe but I don't have a floral skirt?? I do not know how I have never bought one. So confused. I really want to try double polka-dot too. I can't think of much polka-dot items I have though. Seemly I just buy a new grey sweater every time I go shopping...

Have you girls tried contrasting patterns, if so link me in the comments below, I'd love to see your take!
