Favourite Things

1. New make-up palette and Body Shop brushes! I am going to be honest, I know nothing about make-up. My first memory of make-up was bright blue eye shadow that I wore to primary school because I thought it was cool. It was in the 90's mind. Now as an "adult" my make-up bag consists of lipstick, a mascara, eye liner, foundation, concealer and a brow pencil. Pretty basic. I wish I was good at make-up but I always scrimp on it because you have to take it off every night and it is gone, not like my clothes, they are still there to hug me in the morning. But, I found this youtube video by the cotton-candy haired Victoria and I was sold. It is a highlighter, eye shadow palette, an eye liner and a eyebrow pencil all in one. I even bought brushes too. This girl should go into advertising, she could sell me anything. If next time you see me I have pink hair you will know who is responsible.

2. Routine pill popping. I have taken these pills on and off for years, firstly as a response to a really bad almost mullet like haircut, but now I use them mostly to maintain my skin as I have eczema and to sort of my nails which I destroyed by wearing nail varnish daily for 6 years, whoops. I have noticed a difference in each area these pills advertise to help, my hair grows at a crazy rate, my eczema is slightly more maintainable and my nails grow so quickly and look very shiny. They work well with my sister too, but I don't know how other people have got on with them.

3. Weekend walks. I live with my boyfriend and his course is very intensive and I always have something I could be reading so it is actually pretty rare that either of us take the weekend off, unless we have visitors. But this Saturday we wandered into the west end for a little bit of a change, he had never really seen my campus so I gave him a tour. And, although this may shock, it was warm! So warm that I took off my jacket voluntarily, March you better have started as you mean to go on!

What did you do with your weekend?

With love from,

Emma x

  1. I've been wanting the basics palette for ages although I haven't got around to get it yet! And it was quite warm, wasn't it? I actually never wore a jacket yesterday at all and that's so unlike me! Crazy weather!

  2. I take hair, skin and nails vitamins too. I didn't think they would work so well but they are really great :)

That urban decay palette looks awesome. I've been in need of a good nude palette for a while, as I really don't own but 2 colors eye shadow!

  5. Definitely take more trips out at the weekend lovely- don't burn yourself out with uni work, I nearly did in my final year and it was HORRIBLE!! And I find little things like that made me so much more ready to go back and work. Can't believe you were warm enough to take your jacket off though, I'm still wrapped up in a full on winter coat (and I'm in the South West- cue comments about soft southerns ahaha!) xx

    1. Haha, whoops, I have done the same and gave myself a bad haircut! It was fringe issues too! I keep the pills next to where I eat because you are meant to eat them on a full tummy so I never forget.

  25. my weekend was pretty laid-back. the weather was great (unlike today, monday- we're having a snowstorm, ahahha!). visited the mall to check out what's new but didn't really end up getting anything. hahaha!!

anyway, if i lived in a much more interesting and bigger city, i'd spend weekends walking around too!!
anyway, I'm still contemplating on getting the naked basics palette (especially since i already have the 1st naked palette). how is it so far?

    1. Oh no! weather is so weird and inconsistent. So sad when you go shopping looking to buy and nothing catches your eye!

I really like the palette so far, I have never tried anything like it though so I have nothing to compare it with though!

  29. I've been waiting for my hair to grow past it's current length for a good six months now! So maybe vitamins is what I need! I've also just stopped wearing nail polish after god knows how long of constantly having it on and I've already noticed how healthy my nails can be!
    Hope you're enjoying the palette!
