Classic Cars

Dress- Next via eBay // Boots- Office // Sunglasses- Celine // Purse- Mulberry

Next you surprise me. This is cute! I remember being Next loyal in my awkward teenage years, then nothing for years took my fancy. Although recently they have seemed to drag themselves into 2014. I am currently crushing over these Pop art inspired Sandals. This dress was scored on eBay and I think it is kinda perfect. I love the style, the colours and the obvious nod to the glory years of the 60's.

Cashmere, cologne and white sunshine

Fluffy skirt- Topshop // Mint jumper- Nelly // Sandals- Primark // Purse- Mulberry // Stone necklace- Ottoman Hands // Turquoise and pearl necklace- Vintage

This skirt is fantastically 60's. I love the cut, the texture and the statement zip. Additionally, having a fluffy bum is just the best. Leopard print is one of those danger pieces in my opinion. It either look amazing or awful. My default is wearing it with pastels, it keeps it more cutesy than Pat Butcher.

This week I am off to Munich for some much needed festive cheer! If anyone has any tips on where to go, what to do comment below. I'll be spreading the cheer over on instagram, find me at Highland_Fling.

Modern Madeline

(Madeline Tee: Fred Flare -it is no longer-, fluffy wool skirt and double brim hat: & Other Stories, shoes: Miu Miu, Purse: Mulberry) #teenvogue

I don't know if anyone remembers Madeline from their childhood- I hope so, if not I'll feel even older than the shoddy animation for the intro made me feel. Madeline was one sassy lady. She had impeccable style and had good morals. I took this tee to Paris twice to take pictures, but to no avail, so I stomped around a ruined house in the Scottish outback.

Lots of Love,

Sequins during the day

( Sequin skirt: Zara, Wool Jumper: & Other Stories, Shoes: Miu Miu, Purse: Mulberry Bayswater)

"Cause he's gonna think you are a hooker because you are wearing sequins during the day" Willam Belli

This is just for you Willam, just for you. I am obsessed with Ru Paul's Drag Race so much so that I don't quite understand how I lived before I was shown it (thanks Blair). Now, I started with Willam's beatdown, which I had a natural attraction to because I generally find Youtube video's impossibly embarrassing to watch. So watching a beautiful drag queen be crude and mean about others who think it's okay to post a video of them using the toilet, or being naked and cooking a doughnut burger is right up my street. This led to Ru Paul, 5 seasons later I am holding out for season 6 to be aired in the UK.

Parental advisory- if you are not crude and/or dislike innuendos, steer clear. However, if you want to see beautiful men become beautiful women and support Carmen Carrera become a VS model, prepare yourself for a very new and beautiful world.

Also, for anyone who has watched season 5- who all likes my Sequence skirt? Where ma people at?

Love and stuff,

Something haunts my dreams

(Leather Cut-out top: Vintage, Gingham Skirt: DIY, Barbie Shoes: Topshop, Stone necklace: Forever21, Purse: Mulberry)

Gingham, gingham haunts my dreams. I love gingham, so yay, it's having a come back. I actually have a lighter blue gingham skirt I bought from Topshop, but due to their bad quality, length and sizing I felt a need to replace my bobbled, skelt-lengthed, gappy-waist skirt. How to remain placid and not agitated by the Highstreet's idea of a suitable length (money saving initiative- less fabric= less cost) I went to Hobby craft and left with some fabric. An Afternoon later I had a skirt that fits my out of proportion waist AND covers my butt. Everyone is a winner. I used this tutorial if anyone wants to get crafty!

Mailman bring me no more blues

(High neck scuba tee and plaid skirt: ASOS, Chandelier necklace: DIY, socks: Accessorize, Mary Janes: Miu Miu , Purse: Mulberry) #teenvogue

There is something deeply intriguing about this church yard in that it has a Stone Circle in it. It's perfectly ironic. I studied Archaeology for three years in University and excluding the course that took 3 months to try and convince the archaeology students that archaeology was a legitimate subject, I loved it. Maybe more in-hindsight. I am a big collector (hoarder) so I find the whole thing fascinating.  I am going to end up like the crazy lady curator I met at University who proudly showed me her mummified cat that had appeared in her possession. The most concerning part was that she had made it a bed in a tupperwear box. This bed had pillows and a duvet. ULTIMATE CAT LADY- no debates.

Your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow

(Purple skirt: H&M Trend (shortened), Plaid top: Peter Jensen, white pumps: River Island, gold necklace: Forever21, Mulberry handbag) #teenvogue

I have worn this skirt for a post before, however, since giving it a rather severe cut and hem I felt the need to whip it out again. I think this length is far more suitable for everyday wear, grandma skirt length was a little harder to wear. However, for those who don't agree and enjoyed the length before I was released on it with scissors and a spare afternoon, I sat in bird poops while taking these pictures. Does the good luck/ bird poop thing only apply for a direct hit from a moving bird? If so, damn.
