I don't know if anyone remembers Madeline from their childhood- I hope so, if not I'll feel even older than the shoddy animation for the intro made me feel. Madeline was one sassy lady. She had impeccable style and had good morals. I took this tee to Paris twice to take pictures, but to no avail, so I stomped around a ruined house in the Scottish outback.

We looked like Giants

This small, unimposing structure is the Wallace Monument in Stirling.  I actually wrote an essay about it once, if I remember correctly the plans used to build it were found in a bin... Fun Fact. It is worth a visit if you are in the area, I actually prefer it to Stirling castle as they have taken out all the original furnishings, so every room is just a shell with an awkward candelabra with fake fire. You can go inside the monument but heights aren't my friend.

I got this jumper from Nelly, and it was my first purchase from them. I really enjoy this jumper and its little frontal cut-outs. As always, as it is angora it is mighty itchy. I also recently rediscovered this coat, it isn't the most flattering but it is warm and goes with pretty much everything.

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I handed in my dissertation this week and then the day after contracted a cold, so my weekend of freedom has deteriorated into watching Mad Men and feeling sorry for myself. Colds do not help me and my tissue phobia. Weird I know.

Portions for Foxes

Yeah, so I actually ventured out in public in cat ears. It was met with surprisingly few stares and double-takes so maybe I will try again soon. I know, you can't contain yourselves with excitement, right?

Anyway, lookie at this skirt! It's hard not to look at if we are being honest. It is painted leather and has foxes on it which gives me a reason to wander around with foxes on my butt while singing Portions for foxes by Rilo kiley out loud. There, listen to it here so I am not singing alone. I particularly enjoy the foxes faces and that it reminds me of this Rousseau painting (except the foxes don't appear to be suffering from apparent toilet issues like this tiger):

Gaudy. Next time I wear it I promise to be a bit more adventurous than just wearing a grey tee with it, but I just got it this morning and the foxes were giving me heart eyes so I went for the easy way out. Oh, sorry for the seemingly graininess to the pictures, the gardens I was in are quite humid so it played havoc with my lens by steaming it up! So sad. Might explain the frizzy hair that is rocking in this post too, I'd apologise for that too.

P.S. Not sure if anyone noticed the change in footwear, I think I may have hidden it with expert cropping but I managed to ruin my feet by being over confident in a pair of unbroken in heels. I assume you other girls are used to pulling faces like this when your blisters make any form of footwear impossible.

Wore this to go to the fish shop...yeah, over dressed you'd think. Some school kids laughed. But if I had worn it to University people would have laughed too. And because I went to the fish shop, if I had got any trouble I could have beaten them over the head with my bag containing 1kg of mussels. 

Bought this skirt from Topshop recently and loved it so much I bought a similar one in another colour. The fact I was born in Scotland means I can wear a kilt casually, also it means I don't disappoint all the tourists who are under the illusion that Scottish people wear kilts all the time. Who told them this?

This jacket was from H&M in the trend section, which is the only reason I go shopping in town now. If H&M had their trend section online I would never shop in stores again. The pattern reminded me of this Giambattista Valli jacket seen here on the lovely Carolina. Anyway, I was then inspired to get some feathers to make mine vaguely resemble, maybe if you squint and if you are colour-blind, that beautiful jacket. This is the end product, I got my feathers from eBay and if anyone wants a link just shoot me a comment.

Also, you may have noticed that I have somehow been picked to be a Teen Vogue Fashion Click featured blogger!
