You are not a saint

Skirt, shoes and mini bag -& Other Stories // basic tee - ASOS // Fringe necklace- Forever21 // Pearl and turquoise necklace- Vintage  #teenvogue

Oh this skirt, what an epic love story. I saw it online but it was sold out in all sizes but the largest, so, the strategic stalking began. Finally, after a few weeks of obsessive shopping disorder one came back in so I dived on it. When it was delivered, what a good thing to come home to, I hugged it and loved it, then tried it on... Oh.. issue. Either my bum is disproportionately large or the zip in this skirt was too short. Regardless, the only way to get it on was over my head. Distraught, the love affair was over. I desperately tried to find it when I was in London, the shop assistant must have thought I had a problem as I explained my butt to waist ratio and cursed my genetics. No avail. By then I was way past my return date as well so I had two options, build a shrine to my once glorious love or get the scissors out. Scissors and a new zip later my faith in true love was restored.

Forever yours skirt,
(unless my bum increases again in size)

Cashmere, cologne and white sunshine

Fluffy skirt- Topshop // Mint jumper- Nelly // Sandals- Primark // Purse- Mulberry // Stone necklace- Ottoman Hands // Turquoise and pearl necklace- Vintage

This skirt is fantastically 60's. I love the cut, the texture and the statement zip. Additionally, having a fluffy bum is just the best. Leopard print is one of those danger pieces in my opinion. It either look amazing or awful. My default is wearing it with pastels, it keeps it more cutesy than Pat Butcher.

This week I am off to Munich for some much needed festive cheer! If anyone has any tips on where to go, what to do comment below. I'll be spreading the cheer over on instagram, find me at Highland_Fling.

Girl Scout cookie

(Raccoon/ Cartoon Dress: ChicWish, Red ammo belt: Karl Largerfeld, Beat-up loafers: Zara, Bag and scarf: Vintage) #teenvogue

This is the only thing I have ever purchased clothes wise that my boyfriend said was ridiculous. Considering everything, I am impressed it took this long. And I am not denying that this dress is ridiculous, it is hardly the product of a sane mind. But it has embroidered racoons- the cutest masked villains and a tent, and some lady bugs and a compass and a log and some blue tits and what I think is a portable record player. Basically it is an accumulation of all things I love about Moonrise Kingdom, except Suzy's cape coat (which I need some derivative of).

Zany purchase- just saying- but it makes me happy and clothes should do that. Plus some cute old lady in a cafe told me she liked my outfit, so it's grandma approved.

Oh what a web I have woven myself in

( Geometric dress: H&M Trend, Pink purse: River Island, Shoes: Peter Som x Made in Kind, Sunglasses: Celine, necklace: Vintage) #teenvogue

If and when I decide to spawn this dress will be a god send. Roomy. This was one of those items you were oddly attracted to, then you take it to the changing room and like it more than anything else you took in. Not sure why, but the maternity smock style was obviously doing it for me that day.

Much love,

Wind it up

( Clock silk blouse: Vintage, Two tone pleated skirt: H&M Trend, Shoulder bag: River Island, Sunglasses: Celine) #teenvogue

This feels like the most hypocritical post ever. I spent my Friday afternoon volunteering to cut these trees down and promptly returned on Saturday to pose next to them. I don't like hypocrites so let's move on to (I think) my cheapest vintage purchase from the "5 Euro store" in Le Marais in Paris. 5 Euros well spent while my boyfriend queued for my falafel.I miss you Paris. For the food and cheap vintage.

Lonely Hearts Club

( Orange skirt: Topshop, the comfiest shoes on the earth: Topshop, Cheer tee: Vintage, bag: H&M Trend, Sunglasses: Miu Miu) #teenvogue

In order for me to have a really great day all I really need is a sassy high pony and a circle skirt. Best day to be had in an almost Cheerleader outfit- if Cheerleaders wore stripper shoes. This skirt- it is such a thing. We have dress down Friday at work and I wore this, a guy in Supply Chain sat starring at me while holding an orange highlighter triumphantly in front of his face. Subtle. I liked it. It's bright, I get it.

Also, know the amount of restraint  I needed to not link the Harlem Shake.

Something haunts my dreams

(Leather Cut-out top: Vintage, Gingham Skirt: DIY, Barbie Shoes: Topshop, Stone necklace: Forever21, Purse: Mulberry)

Gingham, gingham haunts my dreams. I love gingham, so yay, it's having a come back. I actually have a lighter blue gingham skirt I bought from Topshop, but due to their bad quality, length and sizing I felt a need to replace my bobbled, skelt-lengthed, gappy-waist skirt. How to remain placid and not agitated by the Highstreet's idea of a suitable length (money saving initiative- less fabric= less cost) I went to Hobby craft and left with some fabric. An Afternoon later I had a skirt that fits my out of proportion waist AND covers my butt. Everyone is a winner. I used this tutorial if anyone wants to get crafty!

Lots of love,

Emma x
