I've been sleepwalking down to the lake

(Skirt: H&M trend, Striped top: River Island, Cross necklace: Topshop, Leather bag: Zara, Heels: & other stories, fur tail: Etsy) #teenvogue

I fell in love with a white version of this skirt last seen here. I seriously wear it all the time. So when I saw a purple version of it I jumped on it. Although, I was disappointed, the white one was a perfect length (and I mean perfect!), this one is just plain dowdy. As a result I've not touched it since I got it in the summer. But I saw it there and thought I'd embrace the awkward length thing it has going on. I don't mind it like this, paired with some mega trampy shoes and a crop top, but as soon as I have a weekend this baby is getting shortened.

Sorry for the lack of updates- insert generic busy at work comment-

With love from,

Emma

  1. Oh my gosh we're totally necklace twins yay! I don't know if you've worn yours on your blog before, I might have been unintentionally taking some Emma-spiration haha :) Love this outfit though, the skirt is gorgeous. I've worn my necklace with stripes a few times too, I think statement necklace + striped top = instant chic! xx

    1. Coincidence! I think we are both just dolce obsessed. I agree, stripes and large necklaces are my staple. And a skirt.

  3. Really loving the shape of that skirt! I had a feeling it might be H&M, as I found a similar one in a collection from a few years back. <3 xoxo

    1. They had the original one I have in black, a mustard yellow and the white which I have. This one came out in this purple and a black again. It is a dreamy skirt. Perfect shape!! x

  4. these photos are gorgeous! I love the skirt - despite the awkward length you definitely pull it off, Emma!
I also admire your courage to brave a crop top in the current UK climate, haha.

    1. Ha, I am Scottish and hardy. Thick skin. No visible goosebumps in these pictures anyway! Thank you very much, I think I am still going to have to give it a chop though. I don't wear it as much at this length. x

    1. It looks okay here, but I spend a lot of time pulling it up- normally I pull my skirts down so this is novel for me! They are trampy, but trampy shoes are the best!
